Meet the Board

  • Jeff Craig - President

    Jeff joined the Caledonian Society in 1995 after having played at many of our events starting in 1992 as a snare drummer in the Caledonian Pipe Band. He was a member of the scholarship committee for several years and then chairperson from 2019-2020. From there he became Recording Secretary 2 years for our first female president, Claire Gallant, and then Vice President while Louise Reid was President.

    He has been active in the pipe band, having held positions of secretary, treasurer, drum sergeant and since 2012, their band president. In 2016, Jeff helped the pipe band establish an indoor solo piping and drumming competition. Besides the Caledonian Pipe Band, Jeff also played in the 87th Cleveland Pipe Band for almost 10 years. A highlight of that experience was a trip to compete at the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow in 2015 where the band played in the grade 4 contest.

    Jeff is the dad of three kids, Evan, Katie and Pippa. He and his wife, Sarah live in Cincinnati near Mt. Airy Forest and enjoy the proximity to downtown arts, music and cultural venues.

  • Robert Reid, OOC - Vice President

    Scots/Irish on my father’s side who is from Larne N. Ireland, and English on my mother’s side who is from Lincolnshire England. Born in Seattle Washington but raised in the Midlands in England. I moved back to the US and have lived in Cincinnati since. Soon after college I got into bagpiping. Joining the Cincinnati Caledonian Pipes and Drums where over the years I’ve been President, Quarter Master, Business manager and currently the Drum Major and bagpiper. I’m an honor Guard piper for the Clermont County Sheriff and Loveland Symmes Fire Department. I’ve been on the board for the Cincinnati Celtic festival and the Ohio Scottish Games. Been a member of the Society since 1992 and held various positions over the years. President of the Caledonian Society of Cincinnati 2015/16 and currently a trustee. I work as a Sourcing Manager at Ethicon Endo Surgery.

    Outside of bagpiping, I enjoy playing Polo with the Cincinnati Polo Club, autocrossing my 1979 MGB and traveling to wine country.

  • Larry Pauly - Treasurer

    Larry Pauly is Scottish by maternal lineage. Larry’s mother Jean Maxwell Clipson was the great-great-Granddaughter of Lawrence Maxwell who was conceived in America, and born in Scotland! Larry has been a member of the Society since 1996 and was Scholarship Chair as well as Councilor for several years. Larry was active in the Caledonian Pipes and Drums and learned the bass drum and the finer points of the Drum Major role under the tutelage of two of the finest DMs, Jesse Andrews and Victor Wilson. He subsequently served in the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Pipes & Drums as Bass Drummer and Drum Major for 13 years. A lover of the pipes, he often cajoles piper friends into playing at Christmastime!

    Larry is a Realtor and property investor. He enjoys the solutions providing aspect of the business and his clients rate him highly.

    A resident of Mt. Lookout, Larry and his wife Jenny are empty nesters. His son Max(well) and spouse Shilan live in San Diego. Lindsay, his daughter lives in OTR. Their chocolate Lab, Sadie is a favorite of his neighbors and party guests!

  • Patrick McCollum - Recording Secretary

    Patrick McCollum is an HR professional with over 25 years of solid, transformative HR experience. His ultimate passion is in creating and driving environments where people and teams are empowered to do their best work each day.

    Patrick’s family can be traced to the Argyll area of Scotland, where their clan chief, Robin Malcolm, and his wife Pat, still reside in the clan castle of Duntrune, mere steps from Dunadd Fort, which was the capital city of the ancient kingdom of Dal Riata and the power center of Gaelic kings for hundreds of years, before Scotland became a country.

    When not at work, Patrick meets the definition of a true polymath. An Army veteran, former college athlete, forensic entomologist, heavy metal singer, and amateur fencer; Patrick's interests now involve writing, traveling, spending time with family and friends, or working on one of several other hobbies. He is also a certified Master of Scotch Whiskey, and an Executive Bourbon Steward with the Kentucky Master Distillers Association. Patrick and his family reside in Loveland with their cat (Finnegan) and Siberian Husky (Maisie).

  • Mark Wells - Membership Secretary

    Mark Wells was born and raised in Franklin, Ohio. He retired from Cleveland Cliffs in 2024 and previously worked in mechanical drawing. Mark took an interest in family history and genealogy in the 1990s and has been involved in all things Scottish for over a decade. Mark has Scottish ancestry on both sides of the family; Maclaren on his father’s side, and Mackay from his mother. His ancestors began arriving in the new world in the mid 1700s, in time to fight in the American Revolution. Two of his grandfathers were at King’s Mountain with the Virginia Militia.

    Mark served three years in the Army as a military policeman and nine years in the Ohio National Guard as an infantryman. He is currently a member of the Caledonian Society’s Color Guard and the Losantiville Highlanders. Mark is also a member of the Germantown #257 Masonic Lodge.

    He lives in Middletown with his wife, Karen (Clan Young). Mark has one daughter, Jennifer (son-in-law, Jason) and two granddaughters, Cora and Cecilia.

  • Duncan Moir - Councilor

    Duncan was born and educated in Scotland and came to Cincinnati to join Emery Industries in March 1968. Shortly after, Duncan joined the Caledonian Society, became an active member, and served as Treasurer in 1974, and Vice-President in 1975.

    After a break while working Internationally for Emery, Duncan returned to Cincinnati in 1991, and reconnected with the Society serving as Councilor in 1998/99,  President in 2000-01, Councilor in 2002-05, 2008-18, and now again in 2025.

    Duncan also serves as Archivist for the Society, a position he took over from Jesse Andrews in 2019. Duncan and his wife Rosalind reside in Indian Hill, where they live with their two cats and dog Django. They have three Children who reside with their families in New York, Switzerland and Australia respectively.

  • Don McLennan - Councilor

    Don was born in 1945 to Scottish immigrants Alexander (Alec) and Margaret (Peg) McLennan. Alec was from Aberdeen and Peg was from Wishaw in Scotland. Don has spent a lifetime proud of his Scottish Heritage. Don and wife Susan (married 1971) still maintain contact with Scottish relatives and have visited Scotland many times. Don is Dad to Society Piper Chris McLennan (wife is Scottish born Jessica) and Alison McLennan who was a Competitive Highland Dancer. The entire family to include granddaughters Emily, Megan, Ashley and Faith have been involved in Caledonian Society Activities over the years.

    Don was for many years in business with his brother Alex and was President of Alexander and Assoc. Engineering Design Firm. Don was a Piper with the Caledonian Pipes and Drums, Syrian Scots, Cincinnati Scots and Hamilton County Pipes and Drums over 40 + years. Don has been President of the Caledonian Pipes and Drums, Officer and President of the Caledonian Society of Cincinnati and was a member of the Cincinnati Branch Royal Scottish Dance Society Demo Team.
