We are updating our Society logo to coincide with our 2027 bicentennial. Several logos have been created and your input will help the board decide. Use the google form that was emailed to membership to select your preference.
Understand that fonts, colors and other aspects can be adjusted based on how the logo is displayed.
Society Logo Designs
At the heart of this logo is the Scottish thistle, one of Scotland's oldest national symbols, dating to at least the 15th century. It represents pride, independence, courage, resilience, loyalty, and enduring heritage, making it a fitting centerpiece for the Society's identity. Flanking the thistle are two iconic symbols of our region: the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge spanning the Ohio River, representing the historic connection between Ohio and Kentucky, and the Cincinnati skyline, highlighted by the distinctive Great American Tower, reflecting the city's continued growth while honoring its identity as the Queen City. An endless Celtic knot encircles the design, symbolizing unity, continuity, and the unbroken connection between Scotland and Cincinnati. The logo is intentionally flexible, allowing additional elements—such as lions, swords, banners, or other ceremonial symbols—to be incorporated for special occasions, while the Society's name can be positioned around or alongside the emblem to suit a variety of applications.
A. Thistle & Skyline logo
A bold, minimalist emblem inspired by Scotland's national symbol, this design combines the thistle and Celtic knot into a distinctive mark that reflects pride, resilience, and tradition. Its clean lines make it easily recognizable across digital media, print, signage, apparel, and ceremonial displays. The keen observer will see an “X” in the knotwork inside the symbol, which represents the X for the St. Andrew’s Cross. The core symbol can be displayed nicely as a pin or sticker while adding components around it can provide a more heraldic and tradition feel for the viewer.
