April is Scottish-American Heritage Month

Tartan Day, Monday, April 6th
Nicholson’s is offering a free beer to anyone in a kilt, which is already a perk that Society members enjoy.

Spring Meeting – Saturday, April 11
We’ll begin at 1:00pm with a visit to Spring Grove Cemetery for a guided tour. Turn right after the front gate, and meet in the lot behind the old historic offices.

At 3:00pm, we’ll head next door to Northside Yacht Club, where we’ll gather in our own private Flamingo Room. Food and drinks will be available à la carte, and owner Stuart MacKenzie will stop by to say hello.

Kirking of the Tartan – Saturday, April 19
Join us at 10:30am at Westwood First Presbyterian Church for their annual Kirking service led by Society member, Rev. Rich Jones. The Caledonian Pipe Band will be in attendance as well as the Losantiville Highlanders.

Céad Mìle Fàilte!

Founded in 1827, the Caledonian Society of Cincinnati is the oldest Scottish society in continuous existence in the United States.

Established to aid indigent Scottish immigrants settling in the Cincinnati area, the Society has, for nearly two centuries, served as a steadfast steward of Scottish heritage. Today, the Caledonian Society of Cincinnati is a 501(c)3 charitable organization dedicated to preserving, celebrating, and sharing the rich culture, history, and traditions of Scotland through education, music, dance, and community engagement.

Our Mission:

The mission of the Caledonian Society of Cincinnati is to create, stimulate and sustain an interest in Scotland, to educate the public about Scottish heritage; to provide educational and entertaining events that share and promote Scottish culture; promote goodwill and understanding among its members and the general public and to perform such charitable works and scholarships as may be reasonably possible and appropriate.
